Puri, July 12: The Niladri Bije ritual, which signifies the return of the Holy Trinity to the sanctum sanctorum of Shree Jagannath Temple after 12 days, was held today. Lord Jagannath and his siblings—Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra will enter the temple. Thousands have congregated in the pilgrim town to witness the Niladribije ritual of the holy trinity. Lord Sudarshan, worshiped here as the weapon of Lord Krishna, will be first taken to the 'Ratna Singhasan', the bejewelled throne followed by Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra. Before Lord Jagannath enters into the shrine, Goddess Laxmi closes the main door to prevent him. However, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra make entry smoothly. Rasagola ritual will be performed on the way to the Shri Mandir, in order to appease Goddess Laxmi. Following the Adharapana ritual performed in the last evening, elaborate preparations were made from the morning to escort the deities into their respective altars on the Ratnabedi of the Shri Mandir.
