Barang, June 12: A wild elephant entered into to the tiger safari of Nandankanan breaking through its wall on Friday. Nandankanan authorities tried to drive it out up to late night by a long operation, but in vain. Instead of getting out, the elephant hid itself inside the green belt of the zoo. Sources said, the elephant that used to break into the zoo walls frequently, broke the back wall of the tiger safari and entered into the zoo on Friday. It created a massive destruction of plants around the tiger safari and tried to rampage into the other parts of the zoo. However, being informed, the zoo authorities along with the elephant trackers of Chandaka wildlife rushed to the spot to drive the elephants from the enclosure. However, the tiger marched into another parts of the zoo crating panic for zoo animals. It brought no loss to life or the habitat there. After staying for a long time inside the zoo it passed into the nearest forest, said a forest official. Notably, the tigers from the tiger safari were put inside the animal feeding centre, it’s why the elephant has caused no harm to the tigers.
