Weekend shutdown: Commisionerate police collect fines from violators in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, June 26: With the daily Covid-19 cases in the state capital is on the rise again, the commissionerate police are among every effort to control the rampaging second wave of Covid-19. The commissionerate police has collected penalties from the devotees of Chintamaneswar temple for violating Covid-19 norms enforced to stem the spread of Covid-19.

The commissionerate police have also raided on sweets shop for violating shutdown norms. The sweet shop was found violating the government’s directive on weekend shutdown. The police also sealed the shop for indefinite period of time.

Moreover, police spotted some violators at BJB Nagar. When they tried to catch them, they fled the spot leaving their bikes. The police have also seized their bike.

Majority of people are following the Covid guidelines. However, a substantial number of people are not obeying the Covid norms

Notably, the state government earlier appealed the people to obey the guidelines implemented in night curfew and weekend shutdown. The government also urged people to follow appropriate Covid protocols.
