Sambalpur, May 18: Watcher of the Hirakud dam in Sambalpur has died in the reservoir on Wednesday  while he was fishing.

The deceased is Ganesh Penthoi, a native of Hirakud.

Source said Ganesh had voyaged into the Hirakud reservoir for fishing near the Gandhi Minar on a truck tube. Meanwhile, he was stuck to a fishing net set earlier and could not unwind from its trap. Eventually, he died in the water.

Being informed, the Hirakud police, led by SDPO, Satyabrata Dash recovered the body from the spot and sent it for an autopsy.
