Jajpur, Feb 18: Enraged voters staged a road blockade alleging booth rigging in Nalipur Gram panchayat under the Barachana block limit in Jajpur on Friday. Hundreds of voters supporting certain candidates came on the road after two booths were allegedly captured during the conclusion of the polling. According to the allegation of a handful of voters, polling was concluded in booth No1 and 2 in the Nalipur Gram Panchayat peacefully. The pulling parties were reading to pack up the ballot boxes at about 2 PM. Meanwhile, some miscreants rigged the polling forcefully. Following this, voters including the supporters of a few candidates initiated a massive protest on the National High way at Nalipur square. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and tried to vacate the roadblock but in vain, as the mob demanded re-polling in the rigged booths.
