Vigilance traces properties worth Rs 1.81 crore of Junior Clerk in Odisha

Balangir, Aug 7: Vigilance sleuths have traced properties worth Rs 1.81 crore of Rabindra Kumar Mohanty, Junior Clerk of Puintala Block in Balangir district. Vigilance sleuths on Saturday have conducted raids at five places including the office of Mohanty on allegations of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income. Pradhan was found in possession of assets worth Rs 1.81 crore including one three-storied building at Balangir, two double-storied buildings at Tusura and Dungripali, two four wheelers, bank deposits over Rs 15 lakh, insurance deposits over Rs 13 lakh and cash of Rs 8.06 lakh. Vigilance sleuths said that the search process is still continuing. “The simultaneous searches were conducted on the basis of a court warrant and further investigation in the case is continuing. We are ascertaining the actual income of the officials,” said a vigilance official.  He also said that the income of the official would be calculated to ascertain the gap between the cost of assets and actual income.
