Bhubaneswar, Aug 6: The Odisha government on Friday said preliminary assessment has revealed that the Covid-19 vaccines won't provide 100% protection against the virus. However, the real efficacy of the vaccines can be determined only after a thorough analysis, Director, Health Services Bijay Mohapatra told the media persons. "According to a survey, the number of infections is very less now-a-days. Of those who become infected after vaccination, few patients are in a serious state. Following this, we have to follow Covid norms even after getting vaccinated by keeping distance and using a mask," he said. "We are in the second wave of Covid-19 and the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic has already been predicted before its arrival in Odisha and we are ready to fight against the deadly virus. But we need to be more cautious and prepared," Mohapatra said. He said studies are underway to vaccinate children. "We cannot vaccinate children until we have received technical permission," said Mohapatra.
