UP cops arrest Odisha man over social media post against Modi, Yogi

Cuttack, Sep 4: Uttar Pradesh police on Thursday arrested a 42-year-old man from Salepur area in Cuttack district for allegedly posting deragotary content against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on social media. The arrested has been identified as Sayyed Hassan Ahmed from Kushambi village under Salepur police limits. A police team from Singhbali police station in UP's Baghpat district arrested the accused with help of Salepur police after booking him. A case was lodged in UP against Ahmed for allegedly posting derogatory and threatening content against PM Modi and UP Chief Minister. Accordingly, a team of UP police arrived here and arrested him with our help, said Salepur police station inspector-in-charge Nihar Mohanty. The accused runs a small electronic shop in Salepur market. He would be produced before a local magistrate on Friday for grant of transit remand, said Mohanty.
