Unaccounted cash of Rs 10.05 lakh found from engineer in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 9: Vigilance sleuths today intercepted Bidhan Chandra Sahu, Superintending Engineer, Baitarni Irrigation Division in Keonjhar district with unaccounted cash Rs 10.05 lakh. Officials said that Sahu was intercepted near Panikoili in Jajpur while proceeding to Cuttack. “Naik has been detained for further interrogation after he could not give any satisfactory answers towards the possession of the money. Further investigation in the case is continuing,” said an official. “The amount has been recovered from his possession. He is being examined further in this case. House searches have been launched at his office and residence in Cuttack,” said an official. Similarly Vigilance officials also intercepted P K Mohapatra, Regional Officer, Odisha State Pollution Control Board, Rourkela with unaccounted cash of Rs 1.75 lakh. In another case Narottam Behera, Regional Officer, Pollution Control Board, Balasore was intercepted at Tangi with unaccounted cash of Rs 89,000.
