Two martyrs from Odisha Police to be awarded Saurya Chakra

Bhubaneswar, Aug 14: Ministry of Defence, Government of India has announced Saurya Chakra for two Odisha Police personnel posthumously. Martyr Special Operation Group (SOG) Commandos Debasis Sethy and Sudhir Kumar Tudu are being conferred the Saurya Chakra award for their exemplary bravery, valour and courageous action. Both Shri Sethy and Shri Tudu were engaged in an operation against Maoists on 9th September 2020 in dense forest near village Sikri in Kalahandi district. Both put their own lives in danger and showed exemplary bravery. Ultimately, they delivered their supreme sacrifice for the motherland. DGP, Abhay thanked Government of India for conferring this prestigious honour on two sons of Odisha Police. He also expressed his gratitude and pride for their valiant action. Both Commando Debasis Sethy and Commando Sudhir Kumar Tudu will remain in the hearts of Odisha Police personnel, Abhay Said.
