Baripada, July 16: At least two people lost their lives after a truck hit a scooter on NH-18 near the Palabani bypass in Baripada of Mayurbhanj district on Monday.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.
Sources said, the accident occurred when the truck driver lost control of the wheel and hit a scooter on NH-18 here killing the duo on the spot.
Being informed, police arrived at the scene around 1 am. The bodies have also been recovered and sent for post mortem.
Police seized the vehicle and began a probe into this matter. Detailed reports awaited.
