Two grooms arrested for flouting COVID-19 rule in Odisha

Phulbani, Mar 24: Two grooms were arrested on Monday on charges of observing marriage ceremony in Kandhamal district of Odisha, which violates COVID-19 regulations of the state government. Police arrested Parameswar Bhukta of Nuapada village in the district for organising marriage reception with a gathering of scores of invitees. Similarly, Biju Kanhar, a tribal youth in Khautigaon was arrested for taking a marriage procession involving more than seven people. Kanhar’s brother was also arrested. Apart from this, as many as 16 others were arrested on Monday across the state for flouting COVID-19 rules – 11 persons in Kandhamal district and five persons in Bhadrak district for not complying with the lockdown.
