Two forest officials suspended in connection with tusker poaching in Mayurbhanj

Bariapada, Jan 10: Two forest officials have been placed under suspension while another was issued served show-cause notice in connection with poaching of a tusker at Kalamangadia village under Bariapda forest division on Thursday evening. While Kaptipada range forester Chintamani Mohapatra and guard Pramila Sen were suspended from service, range officer Maheswar Singh has been served show-cause notic. The carcass of a 25-year-old tusker was found without its tusks. This was the second unnatural elephant death in the state this month as the carcass of a 15-year-old female elephant was found on January 1 in the Tangi forest range of Khordha district.
