Keonjhar, Jan 10: A wild tusker wreaked havoc in more than five villages under Patana range in the district last night. The pachyderm entered into human habitation late in the night and destroyed several houses in Badbil, Jamunalia, Talasarua, Haladibata and Nuagaon villages. {"id":23631,"sizeSlug":"large"} The animal also ate away harvested crops and damaged vegetable farming. People are living in a state of terror due to move of wild elephants into human habitations in night and preferring to remain indoors before sunset. {"id":23632,"sizeSlug":"large"} Locals have demanded immediate steps by the forest department to chase the wild tusker away and compensation for the damages. Forest department informed that the pachyderm has ventured into Purunapani forests near Ghuntibeda village.
