Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: The contactless QR-based Visitor Management System (VMS) installed at the ticket counter of the 11th-century Rajarani temple ticket counter here is causing problems for tourists. According to reports, the ticket counter is remaining open from 10 am to 5 pm. The visitors are asked to check in using the QR-Code scanning system by the security guards.  However, the QR-scanning process is time-taking and needs the details of the visitor along with the Aadhar card number. Many times, the app is not open due to poor internet speed. And, many visitors are not coming with their Aadhar cards and most of them find it difficult to remember the Aadhar number which is mandatory in the QR-scanning system to get entry into the temple premises. Following this, they are returning without paying a visit to the historic temple, said a security guard on condition of anonymity. "We have come from West Bengal on a tour to visit Puri and Bhubaneswar. The QR-scanner is not responding to my PhonePe app while it was friendly with Google Pay and Paytm apps of my friends, following which I had to take an over-the-counter ticket after waiting for hours in queue for QR-scanning," said Sovan Bose. Like me, scores of visitors are forced to take over the counter ticket after hour-long waiting in the queue for a digital ticket, he added.
