Toshali National Craft Mela sales touch Rs 5 crore

Bhubaneswar, Jan 29: Sales at 15th Toshali National Craft Mela- 2021 at Janata Maidan crossed Rs 5 crore today. The mela organised by Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department started from January 21 and will conclude on February 4. Artisans, weavers and sculptors from all over the country are participating in this Crafts Mela toexhibit their traditional and contemporary handicraft and handloom products. As important cultural nerve centre of the country, Bhubaneswar hosts the Toshali National Crafts Mela at Janata Maidan every year. This year the mela has around 250 handicraft and handloom stalls out of which 80 weavers/artisans from different states of the country are being sponsored by DC (Handlooms) / DC (Handicrafts), GOI. Similarly 110 artisans and 60 weavers of the state are being sponsored by DH & CI, Odisha and Directorate of Textiles and Handlooms, Odisha respectively.
