Tigress Sundari to be sent back to MP in March

Angul, Feb 26: Tigress Sundari, now residing at Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary in Angul district, will be sent back to her earlier home in Madhya Pradesh in March this year. Regional Chief Conservator of Forest (RCCF) and Director of Satkosia wildlife project Prakash Raj Karat said that Sundari will be sent back to Kanha Wildlife Sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh almost within this March. Having permission from the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), all formalities have been completed to initiate Sundari’s translocation, said Karat. However, the NTCA has advised the Kanha Wildlife Sanctuary authorities to release Sundari in one of the re-wilding zones of Madhya Pradesh. Notably, Sundari was adopted by Satakosia Wildlife department to increase tiger race in Angul. But it failed duo to the maladjustment of Sundari at this new habitat.
