These five dists enter yellow zone, know the details

Bhubaneswar: There is a marked shift in pattern of Covid-19 spread in the State. Along with Khordha eight more districts which have been recording more than 100 cases each almost daily, emerged as COVID hotspot. Even as the number of new cases has come down in Khordha, Sundargarh continued to be the nerve centre of coronavirus spread. The rapid surge in infection in Cuttack, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Bargarh and Kalahandi has kept the Health Department on its toes as it entered into the yellow zone while Sundargarh and Khordha have been categorized as red zone. Cuttack reported a total of 117 while Sambalpur and Bargarh saw 120 cases each. Nuapada district witnessed 104 covid cases,while the cases in Kalahandi reached out to 34 today. Odisha saw a daily spike in COVID-19 cases after the state reported 2267 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 355353. Of the 2267 cases, 1314 are from quarantine while 953 are local contact cases while three are succumbed to the disease. The fresh fatalities were reported from Bolangir, Jajpur and Ganjam districts. Sundargarh reported the highest with 458 cases, followed by Khordha with 348 new infections. The total recoveries went up to 341123 leaving behind 12244 active cases while 1933 are succumbed to the virus.
