Tent association stages protest seeking relaxation on Covid restrictions

Bhubaneswar, Aug 9: Tent house, catering, florist and light & sound associations on Monday staged a dharna at the Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar demanding relaxation of restrictions imposed on organising social functions due to Covid pandemic. The association demanded to delimit the number of guests in marriage, last rite, and other social functions. Office bearers of the association said, almost all restrictions due to Corona has been withdrawn. Markets, malls, and cinema halls are functioning with full strength. At the same time, the service sectors related to social functions are not allowed so far. As a result, thousands of families who live on it have lost their livelihood.
