Tata Sons Chairman meets PM Modi ahead of official handover of Air India to Tata Group

New Delhi, Jan 27: N Chandrasekaran, the Chairman of Tata Sons called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi today ahead of official handover of Air India to Tata Group. The formalities have been completed. The Air India disinvestment process is closed. The shares have been transferred to Talace Pvt Ltd, which is the new owner of Air India, said Tuhin Kant Pandey, Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management (DIPAM). A consortium of lenders led by SBI will provide loans to Tata Group for the smooth functioning of the debt-laden Air India. In October last year, Tata Group won the bid to acquire the debt-laden Air India along with Air India Express and 50% state in AISATS.
