Berhampur, Jan 6: The legal battle fought by Tapaswini Dash for her marital right has taken a bitter turn on Thursday. She has taken shelter on the Verandah of her in-law’s house after she was denied access to the desired room. Following this, Tapaswini has decided to move the District Judge Court, Berhampur, and the Orissa High Court on Friday. Hearing on the petition filed by Tapaswini’s husband Doctor Sumit on Monday, the District Judge had issued direction to allow Tapaswini in his parental house. . However, her father-in-law, Pramod Kumar Sahu debarred her from staying in the previous room, where Sumit and Tapaswini were staying together, before this legal spike. On the other hand, he asked Tapaswini to stay on the first floor of the building all alone. Tapaswini remained firm on her stand that she would sit in the same bedroom on the ground floor, where she used to live with Sumit after her marriage. As the matter could not be settled till late at night on Tuesday, Tapaswini spent the whole night on the verandah and intimated it to police, district administration and the protection officer. In the meantime, the upper floor which was readied for Tapaswini was seen to be shut down. On the other hand, the advocate for Doctor Sumit said, the District Judge Court order never said anywhere to accommodate Tapaswini in Sumit’s house.
