Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: The swab samples of 21 of 56 Covid-19 infected students of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla in Sambalpur district were collected and would be sent to Bhubaneswar for genome sequencing to find out why the medicos tested positive for the virus even after a double dose of vaccination. The infected students have been admitted to the Covid-19 unit of Vimsar, according to the official. The authorities also declared five hostel micro containment zones after 56 students tested positive for Covid-19. Entry and exit to the hostel Sabitri, Gargi, Charak, Bhrugu, and Patanjali have been restricted and are declared as micro-containment zone while offline classes and practical classes have been suspended. The staff quarters of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Apala Girls Hostel, Atreya Hostel, Biswamitra Hostel, and Markandeya Hostel and all the staff quarters under Ward No- 6 have been declared buffer zone.
