Jharsuguda, April 25: A suspicious drone reportely fell near the residence of Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari creating panic in the Amadaraha Belpahar area in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Thursday.
The Belpahar police have initiated an investigation regarding the crashed drone.
Sources said a drone moving over the Belpahar residential area suddenly found crashed for some sort of mechanical glitches and fell near the Parliamentarian’s house. On being informed, locals gathered there and informed the police.
A team of police led by the Belpahar IIC visited the spot, seized the drone and initiated an investigation to ascertain the sole operator of the device.
The drone is suspected to be launched to the sky by the forest officials for reporting wildfire and poaching related activities in the nearby forest.
The drone is in police custody, he added. Further investigation is going on.
