Sambalpur, March 4: Students of a private college in Sambalpur were allegedly duped by the college authorities after they failed to appear the annual plus two examinations. Around 40 students have taken admission at Jamuna Devi College by paying higher fees with an assurance to pass the examination easily. “Around 40 students have taken admission in the college. When we reached the college to collect our admit cards, we found the college building locked. We somehow managed to nab the principal and he assured us that we will be able to appear the examination in another college. But when we reached the other college, we came to know about the fraud,” said a student. The victims later lodged a formal complaint with the Dhanupali police station. Police said that they are trying to nab the principal of the college who has absconded after the incident.
