New Delhi, July 16: The Centre on Friday filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court that states mustn’t permit movement of Kanwariyas for bringing 'Ganga Jal' from Haridwar in view of Covid-19. However, considering religious sentiments, the Centre in its affidavit said that state governments must develop system to make 'Ganga Jal' available via tankers at designated locations, news agency ANI reported. The Centre told the apex court that tankers should be available at identified/designated locations so that nearby devotees can collect 'Ganga Jal' and do 'abhishek' at their nearest Shiv temples. The Centre further told that state governments must ensure that distribution of 'Ganga Jal' among devotees and rituals by such devotees in the nearby Shiv temples must be carried out in adherence to all Covid protocols.
