Bhubaneswar, July 2: The opposition BJP and Congress on Saturday termed the budget presented by Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari as a ‘disappointing one’. Opposition chief whip Mohan Majhi said that the budget is politically motivated and does not contain anything new for poor and worker sections. It’s akin to putting colours on old wall of a school. There is no provision in this budget to generate capital. As a result, the state’s own revenue has declined, said Majhi. He further said the state’s budget is completely dependent on the Central government’s assistance. Congress legislator Mohammed Moquim also termed it as a disappointing one. The budget has nothing for the economically weaker section. Also, there has been no budgetary provision for the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, said Moquim. On the other hand, BJD MLA Rajkishore Das said this budget is No 1 CM’s top-class budget. All the sectors have been given priority. This budget will be beneficial for the state, he added.
