South city bar owner,manager arrested for invalid bar licence

Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: Commissionerate police has arrested the owner and manager of South city bar situated at Patrapada in Bhubaneswar on the charges of operating the bar without any valid licence, on Saturday. The arrestees have been identified as Pradyumna Jena, the owner and Prasanna Behera, the manger of the bar, who is also a constable. Sources said, the bar was run by Behera on lease basis since long. Meanwhile, its licence was expired in September 2021. However, the bar authorities had not applied for renewal. On the other hand, veteran journalist Navin Das’s son, Manish Anurag was allegedly thrashed to death in the bar, a few days ago. Acting on it, Tamando police arrested the bar owner and its manager today.
