Bhubaneswar: Reiterating the demand for a CBI probe into death of Haridaspur village level-worker (VLW) and in-charge Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) Smitarani Biswal, the BJP today demand dismissal of Chairperson of Odisha State Commission for Women and Jajpur SP for failing to provide justice to the victim.
Smitarani (31) was found hanging in a private guesthouse of Haridaspur sarpanch Madhusmita Bhadra’s husband Rupesh Bhadra at Baligari on October 16 under mysterious circumstances.
Senior party leader and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Pradipta Naik in a press conference alleged that the death of Smitarani was a pre-planned murder.
“The role of the State Commission for Women and Jajpur SP is totally dubious. How they concluded the probe without meeting the family members of the deceased,” said Naik.
Meanwhile, BJP observed a bandh in Jajpur demanding a CBI probe into the death case.
