Six persons arrested for inflammatory slogans at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi, August 10: Six persons, including former BJP spokesperson Ashwini Upadhaya have been arrested in connection with inflammatory sloganeering near Jantar Mantar on Sunday, Delhi Police said on Tuesday. Besides Upadhyay, the other men who have been arrested are Vinod Sharma, Deepak Singh, Vinit Kranti, Preet Singh, Deepak Singh Hindu. Upadhyay had called a protest march against “colonial-era laws” on Sunday and had hundreds of people in attendance. Purported videos of the event showed people shouting slogans threatening harm to Muslims follwig which police registered a case and started investigation. The arrested were identified using footage from the event.
