Bhubaneswar, Oct 17: In a major setback to BJP, several frontline leaders and workers of the saffron party from Chilika Assembly constituency joined the BJD on Monday here at Sankha Bhavan, the party’s state headquarter.
The joining ceremony took place in presence of BJD state general secretary and Rajya Sabha member Manas Ranjan Mangaraj.
“The joining of several strong leaders and workers of BJP in BJD will help in strengthening our party’s grip in Chilika,” said Mangaraj.
The joiners include former councilor of Banapur NAC and former vice president of Khordha district BJP women wing Pranati Martha, Banapur ward BJP president Biswanath Dalei, Pratima Mallick, former councilor Jharia Pradhan, veteran leaders Dinabandhu Pradhan and Jogendra Barik, youth leader Manoj Sahu and many more to name.
We have joined the BJD being inspired by the tall personality of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the developmental works he is undertaking for Odisha, said the leaders.
