Mumbai, Dec 5: Seven more people have tested positive for the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in Maharashtra, informed the State Health Department on Sunday.
The Omicron positive ones have been reportedly contaminated from Nigeria.
Health officials said, six out of the seven positive cases are related it includes a woman along with her two daughters who were traveling from Nigeria to meet her brother in the adjoining Pimpri Chinchwad area. Subsequently, the woman her two daughters, and a brother have also tested positive for the variant.
However, the seventh case is of a man from Pune who returned from Finland in the last week in November, the official added.
Accounting for the new ones, as many as 8 Omicron cases have been reported in Maharashtra.
Worth mentioning, all the seven cases detected today hail from Pune.
