<strong>Man climbs atop Nilachakra of Puri Jagannath temple; Rescued</strong>

Puri, Oct 5: A man reportedly climbed atop the Nilachakra of the Jagannath temple in Puri on Wednesday. The man who was identified as one of the servitors of the Agneeswar temple was rescued by police after a tiring operation. Sources said the Jagannath temple was overcrowded with visitors on the occasion of Dussehra in the morning. Meanwhile, a man was found atop the temple at the Nilachakra. Being informed, police managed to bring the man off the temple after a few hours. Inquiry revealed that the offender was a priest of the Agneeswar temple. Subsequently, the police initiated an interrogation on the complaints of the servitors’ forum. However, it remains a mystery as to why did the servitor climb atop the temple while there was no ritual to go it up.
