Section-144 imposed at Sri Baladevjew temple in Kendrapara ahead of Makar Sankranti

Kendrapara, Jan 13: As part of precautionary measures against transmission of Covid-19, the Kendrapara administration promulgated prohibitory order under section 144 of CrPC in and around the Baladevjew temple on Thursday, ahead of Makar Sankranti. In a bid to prevent the congregation of devotees in and around the Baladevjew temple for the smooth conduct of the Makar Sankranti rituals, which is on Jan 14, Kendrapara district administration has enacted the restriction. The prohibitory orders will remain in force from 9 pm on Wednesday till 9 pm on January 15. The district administration held a meeting with Baladevjew temple servitors about the observance of all rituals related to the Makar Sankranti yesterday. However, priests/Sevayats will be allowed to perform the rituals of the temples as per custom and tradition. Worth mentioning, thousands of visitors congregate at the Baladevjew temple on the eve of the Makarto witness the rare Nabanka Niti, a special ritual dedicated to Maa Laxmi. wp:heading {"level":1}   /wp:heading
