Keonjhar, Jan 23: Santoshini Deo of Bada Amuni village under Sadar block in Keonjhar district of Odisha drove her auto-rickshaw around 1200 km to reach Ayodhya Ram temple.
Santoshini has been driving auto rickshaw since 2015 to sustain her family after marital discord with husband, who deserted her. She had married a man in Haryana, where her father was working.
She returned to her village with her daughter and drove an auto rickshaw to look after her parents. She is driving auto-rickshaw in Bhubaneswar for the last four years.
She began her journey from Keonjhar on January 8 installing a flag of Lord Ram on her auto rickshaw. She was taking sheltrer at mutths and temples at night during her journey. The police detained her at Uttar Pradesh border during checking but released her after knowing that she is a devotee of Lord Ram and she is on her way to Ayodhya.
"Good Samaritans helped me throughout the journey and I stayed in a Brahmin family in Ayodhya to witness the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram," said Santoshini. She is now in Ayodhya and will return back to Odisha after darshan of Lord Ram.
