Sambar rescued from stray dogs in Cuttack

Cuttack, June 14: A sambar has been rescued from stray dogs near Athgarh in Cuttack on Tuesday. The lone wildlife was released into the forest with the intervention of forest officials. The incident came to the fore when the locals of Panchagochhia village under the Narasinghapur West forest Range spotted a sambar that was chased by a herd of stray dogs in the morning. Following this, the locals cordoned the sambar in the mid village and checked the herd of dogs attacking it. At the same time, they informed the range officials in this connection. Acting on it, a team of forest officials rushed to the spot and helped the villager to release the sambar in the Narasinghapur forest.
