Rs 1.5 crore fine imposed for COVID-19 norm violations in Delhi in 2 days: Delhi govt

New Delhi, Dec 25: The Delhi Government on Saturday informed that the enforcement agency has imposed fines of approximately Rs 1.5 crore in the last two days for violation of COVID-19 protocols in the national capital. As per the data of December 22-23 released by the enforcement of Delhi, As many as 163 FIRs were registered while and exact amount of Rs 1,54,71,500 was imposed for violation of protocols. "1,245 violations registered in East Delhi and 1446 in North Delhi. 7778 cases of not wearing masks, not following physical distance, and gathering crowd have been registered," Delhi Government informed. India has reported 7,189 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, including 180 new cases from Delhi which is the biggest single-day spike in the national capital since June 16 this year. Meanwhile, the tally of Omicron cases in the country has rose to 415 with 108 cases from Maharashtra, followed by 79 from Delhi, Gujarat 43, Telangana 38, Kerala 37, Tamil Nadu 34, and Karnataka 31.
