Rourkela, Oct 9: Police today received the post-mortem report of ASI Alisa Narmi Lugun who died under mysterious circumstances on October 1. However, police remained tight lipped about the findings of the autopsy report.
Lugun working in the Uditnagar police station in Rourkela had died after being reportedly assaulted by a group of disorderly crowd. The incident took place when a mob was creating a ruckus on the road after detaining a bus near Birjapali.
On being informed ASI Lugun rushed to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control. However, she fell down on the road and succumbed to head injuries on the spot.
Police later registered a murder case based on complaint filed by the victim's husband. Her husband alleged that his wife did not have any previous health issues and she was beaten to death while on duty at an accident site.
