Puri, July 7: The Rath Yatra/ Car Festival, the annual sojourn of Lord Jagannath in Odisha is going to be held today.
Lord Jagannath in Odisha’s Puri with a lot of significant shrines across Odisha and the nation will manifest before tens of thousands of devotees, coming onboard the chariots following a series of rituals scheduled from the wee hours of Saturday.
In the Srikshetra Puri, three raths for Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra are all adorned with traditional art and crafts, to get the deities onboard. Devotees from the nuke and corners of the nation, are thirstily awaiting the Lords and Gods, to offer their abeyisance to Lord Jagannath and his siblings on raths. Similarly, saints and sheers have also eagerly awaited to pull the Chariots of the moving god on the Grand Road believing it a holy deed for attaining peace and ruling out their rebirth.
Elaborate preparations are at place on behalf of the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration, Puri district administration and police, to conduct the world famous festivity with ease.
Worth mentioning, the Pahandi Bije and Chhera Panhara, two key rituals of the festivity ar scheduled in the afternoon after compleing some of the pre-rituals related to the Anasara rituals.
