Bhubaneswar, May 19: Senior BJP leader and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attacked the ruling BJD and Congress during a campaign rally in Rairakhol on Sunday.
Speaking to a large crowd, Singh criticized the Congress for ruling Odisha for 50 years and the BJD for 25 years, claiming that the state has seen little development in these 75 years.
"While poverty persists in Odisha, many important documents, manuscripts, and cultural artifacts have been lost. I have been informed that even the keys to the Ratna Bhandar of Puri Jagannath temple are missing," he said.
Singh contrasted this with India's progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He noted that India, once overlooked by the world, has gained significant recognition over the past decade. Highlighting Modi's achievements, Singh mentioned the safe return of Indian citizens and students from Russia and Ukraine amid the war there, noting that the warring nations paused their conflict for 4.5 hours to facilitate the evacuation.
He further stated, "The BJP has fulfilled its promises, including the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir, the construction of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and the implementation of the CAA."
Singh emphasized Modi's dedication to the upliftment of the poor, citing the provision of pucca houses, cooking gas, toilets, and other amenities. He highlighted the continuous efforts of the BJP government to improve the lives of the poor and backward classes, urging people to vote for the BJP both at the Centre and in the state Assembly.
