Bhubaneswar, May 3: People in the twin cities got much-needed relief from scorching heat as heavy rains lashed Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Tuesday evening.
The twin cities were reeling under heatwave for over the last few days with temperature hovering over 40 degrees Celsius. The drizzle in the evening made the climate pleasant.
Bhubaneswar saw the mercury rise to 39.0°C today.
As many as 18 places in the state recorded temperature above 40°C while Boudh recorded the highest temperature at 44.5°C.
