Houston, Sep 8: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived in the US for a three-day visit aimed at deepening ties between India and America. During his stay, Gandhi plans to engage in “meaningful discussions and insightful conversations” to further strengthen the relationship between the two nations.
In a Facebook post, Gandhi, who is the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception he received in Dallas, Texas, from the Indian Diaspora and members of the Indian Overseas Congress. He shared photos of his arrival and conveyed his enthusiasm for the upcoming discussions.
The Congress party highlighted Gandhi's “warm and enthusiastic” welcome at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in a post on X.
Indian Overseas Congress chairperson Sam Pitroda clarified last week that Gandhi is visiting the US in a personal capacity, rather than in an official role. He will have the opportunity to engage with various individuals on Capitol Hill, including interactions with the press at the National Press Club, discussions with think tank experts, and a session at Georgetown University in Washington DC.
Gandhi’s visit, from September 8-10, will include events in both Washington DC and Dallas, with planned interactions at Georgetown University and the University of Texas.
