Puri, July 15: Puri MLA Jayanta Kumar Sarangi has appealed to the Puri district administration to allow senior citizens for darshan of the deities on the Adapa mandap and Sunabesa on Thursday. Sarangi submitted a memorandum to the Collector and marked a copy to the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in this regard. The memoranda read , the denizens of Puri had been exempted from Darshan of the Trinity on the Grand Road at the time of the Rath Yatra. Even, peeping the deities from the rooftop or balcony was also banned this time. As a result, the senior citizens in the vicinity are longing for the darshan at the Adapa mandap and Sunabesa. On the other hand, Puri Collector Samarth Verma said, "We are looking into the proposal of the BJP. However, action as per the Supreme Court’s direction will be taken on the request of the MLA."
