Puri, May 26: Repair of the Shree Jagannath temple in Puri is to be taken up soon, The decision was taken at a high-level meeting held on Friday.
Officials of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and Archaeological Survey of India(ASI) discussed here the repair of the sanctum sanctorum of the 12th-century shrine and some essential parts of the temple.
In the meeting chaired by the Chief Administrator of the SJTA Ranjan Kumar Dash, representatives of the ASI, temple servitors, and allied organizations put up their proposals to take up the repair work conveniently before the Rath Yatra.
A lot of cracks and scale-offs have been detected by the ASI for the urgent mend-ups after a technical team submitted a report on it.
