Puri: Holy Trinity reaches the birth cradle

Puri, July 2: A day after the Rath Yatra the ‘Adapa Mandap Bije’ rituals of Lord Jagannath and his siblings was held in the Saturday evening. The holy Trinity was escorted to the Adapa Mandapa inside the Gundicha Temple in Puri where the deities will stay for over  seven days to be nourished with mother’s care. After performing the rituals associated with the Adapa Bije Niti, the Trinity was taken out towards the Shri Gundicha temple in a grand procession called ‘Goti Pahandi’ amid scores of servitors and thousands of devotees. After an hour-long procession the deities reached at their respective altars known as the Adapa Mandap at around 9 PM. {"id":194840,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} The Adapa Mandapa is considered as the birth cradle of the Lords, where the Trinity comes up once in a year during the Rath Yatra. Worth mentioning, the three chariots namely the Taladhwaja, Darpadalan and Nandighosha rolled on the Grand Road from Singhadwar and reached the Gundicha Temple ahead of the schedule on Friday after two years for the Covid-19 pandemic.
