Bhubaneswar, Feb 12: Proxy customer care agents have fraudulently looted Rs 2.3 lakh from two persons in Bhubaneswar. Prasanta Kumar Bidyadhar has lost Rs 1.47 lakh from his bank account yesterday. According to the complaint, he awaited a refund of air- fare from the travelling partner Goibibo since his flight cancelled for covid-19. Mean while at around 11 am, Thurseday, Bidyadhar received a call from an unknown source. The caller introduced him as a customer care agent of the Goibibo and asked the credit card details of Bidyadhar. In response Bidyadhar shared the details of his account with the caller. However, Bidyadhar noticed that his account credited Rs 1.47 lakh within few minutes. Similarly, in another incident proxy customer care agent looted Rs 82 thousand from the e-wallet of Smrutiranjan Bhuian, a resident of Jaydev Vihar with the same plot.
