Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: After a positive discussion with School and Mass Education Minister Sudam Marndi and Secretary Aswathy S. held on Wednesday, the primary teachers’ association is hopeful that their demands will be fulfilled soon.
We had an amicable discussion with the minister who responded to our demands positively and the association members are very hopeful that the government will announce something for us on September 5, on the occasion of Teachers' Day, said the association's secretary general Charulata Mahapatra.
OSEPA State Project Director Anupam Saha was also present at the meeting. The teachers’ association has presented its three-fold demands.
After a detailed discussion, it was decided that all the demands will be presented in the inter-ministerial meeting and departmental steps will also be taken regarding other related demands.
Notably, the school and mass education department on Tuesday issued a notification for the appointment of 20,000 junior teachers (schematic) on an annual agreement.
