Political murders in BJP ruled states are far higher than in Odisha: BJD

Bhubaneswar, Jan 5: Ruling BJKD today accused BJP of indulging in cheap politics and politicizing incidents of crime knowing fully well that BJD govt has always taken the strictest action against crime and criminals. BJD spokesperson, Sulata Deo said that it is shocking as well as hilarious that the BJP is now questioning the line of investigation by SIT in Nayagarh minor rape and murder case. “By questioning why Narco test was done, does BJP now want to head SIT and tell which test will now be done or not done. The people of Odisha are laughing at them for making such statements. If they have any evidence, let them approach the court instead of spreading falsehood,” said Deo. She also said that BJP has been indulging in false narratives like in the case of Kunduli and in the case of Tikri, Rayagada where they accused a person of the crime and later gave him a ticket from their party to contest election. “The people of Odisha have seen through their falsehood and cheap politics over the years and have been giving them befitting reply in election after election,” she added. Reacting on the Mahanga double murder case, Deo said that the BJD Govt is strongly committed to nab the accused. “Strict action will be taken against the perpetrators of this heinous crime. Political murders in BJP ruled states are far higher than in Odisha as per NCRB data like UP, Bihar, MP and Karnataka. By politicizing such crime related issues, the Odisha BJP is showing its insensitivity. It also shows that they are not getting any genuine issues,” further said Deo.
