Nabarangpur, Jan 3: Police today claimed to have cracked the sensational murder case of a minor girl in Kosagumuda area last month. Though the family members alleged that the minor girl was raped and murdered, police ruled out rape and said that it was a revenge killing over one sided love affair. Police arrested two accused identified as Khadi Bhatara and Bali Majhi on charges of murder. "Bhatara was the prime accused in the murder of the girl. The victim had earlier rejected the marriage proposal of the prime accused. The victim had also slapped him for which he hatched the plot to eliminate her. The other accused helped her in execution of the crime," said Nabarangpur SP, Kusalkar Nitin Dagdu. The SP further said that the post-mortem report of the victim ruled out any sexual assault. "Further investigation in the case is continuing," he added. Opposition Congress had made it an issue with observing Nabarangpur bandh accusing the police of suppressing the fact and not making the post mortem report public.
