Police recovers valuables stolen from temple in Choudwar

Cuttack, May 8: Choudwar police today recovered properties stolen from a temple in the area in November last year. Police said that the recoveries were made after brining the accused ientified as Bipra Kesahi Samantaraya(30) under police remand. Police said that the accused had decamped with several valuables including gold and silver from Dakhineswar Kali temple in Choudwar. “During course of investigation we found involvement of Samantaraya in the burglary. He has been changing his location frequently to avoid arrest. Subsequently he was arrested with his associates by Purighat police for another crime. We brought the accused under remand and during interrogation he confessed about his involvement in theft in two temples in Choudwar area. We also recovered stolen properties,” said a police official.
