Police personnel shot dead by terrorists in J&K

Srinagar, Dec 22: A police personnel was heavily injured and later succumbed to his injuries after he was shot by the terrorists on Wednesday at the Bijbehara area in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. The martyr has been identified as ASI Mohd Ashraf Police Station Bijbehara, Anantnag. The Kashmir Zone Police informed that following the incident, ASI Ashraf with critical injuries, was rushed to a Srinagar based hospital for treatment following which he succumbed to the injuries and attained martyrdom. "Terrorists fired indiscriminately and critically injured a police personnel ASI Mohd Ashraf of Police Station Bijbehara, Anantnag He has been shifted to Srinagar based hospital for treatment. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Police tweeted immediately after the police personnel was shifted to the hospital. "Injured ASI Mohd Ashraf succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom. We stand by his family at this critical juncture,” Kashmir Zone Police said in the tweet after the demise of ASI Mohd Ashraf. Earlier in the day, a civilian was shot dead by terrorists in the Eidgah area of Srinagar city.
